Ruben Taborda is Senior Director, Supply Chain customer solutions, where he is responsible for development and deployment of solutions that improve the efficiency and experience of Hospital and Distributor customers to help achieve the Triple Aim.


Ruben was previously Enterprise Customer Team Leader supporting top integrated delivery networks (IDNs) with strategic account management, innovative contracting and unique solutions. Prior to that, he was Chief Procurement Officer, Medical Deviceswhile also leading Supplier Diversityfor the entire Johnson& Johnson (J&J)Enterprise.


Ruben joined the J&J in 1984as anengineering intern. Throughout his career, he has worked in areas of increasing responsibility across various business units spanning the full range of healthcare including Consumer, Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devicessectors. Moreover, he has rotated across many diverse functions including Procurement, Manufacturing, Planning, Distribution/Transportation, Finance, Customer Marketing, Sales and Account Management.


In 2008,Ruben assumed responsibility for the Johnson & JohnsonSupplier Diversity program. Under his leadership,Johnson & Johnsonspend with minority-and woman-owned businesses grew by 50% in three years. Through this achievement, J&J has the distinction of being the first health care company to become a member of the Billion Dollar Round Table, a prestigious group of only 20corporations that spend over one billion dollars annually with diverse suppliers. In addition, J&J’s small business spend grew to nearly 25% of total US procurement dollars.


Ruben has been honored withnumerous supplier diversity awards, includingthe Long Island Hispanic Chamber, the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the American Associationof Hispanic Healthcare Executives.He holds anMBAfrom Duke University’s FuquaExecutive MBA program, a Masters in Manufacturing from the Kettering Institute in Michigan, and aBA in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University
